It’s a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Sangiovese. It’s full bodied and dark in colour that is both brilliant and deep, with an aromatic nose and long, well-balanced palate. The initial fruity and floral aromas develop into a subtle bouquet of wood, spice and smell associated with a particular vineyard. On the palate, the tannin becomes softer and rounder.

The five grapes in our Big Red BBQ Blend each bring their own unique fruit flavours. Cabernet Sauvignon grapes have bold fruit flavours of blackberry, blackcurrant and plums with a dash of spice. Cabernet Franc grapes have a beautiful bouquet and flavours of cassis and raspberry. Melort grapes provide the blend with lush fruit flavours of plum, cherry and strawberry. Sangiovese grapes give the blend some cherry fruit overtones, balancing acidity and soft tannins. Petit Verdot grapes add some dense fruit taste, a dark colour, and heavy tannins. Together, these grapes make the perfect red wine for any BBQ.
